Blaze Pizza, a national pizza chain that offers customizable pizzas from an assembly line, closed its Theatre District location in Boston in late May, according to its website and a storefront sign one customer shared via Google reviews.

The pizzeria did not give an explanation for its closing, but a sign posted on the eatery's storefront pointed customers in the direction of its three nearby locations in Fenway, Cambridge, and Boston University.

Fans of the chain praise its "you-decide" format and high-heat, fast-fired pies.

"I was really blown away by the flavor and variety of Blazes pizza," said a month-old Google review. "They make them right in front of you, sort of like, watching a Subway grinder being made."

Blaze Pizza has locations across the US and Canada and was founded in Pasadena, California.
